Natural Lip Balm and Body Butter Workshop

You will be surprised how easy it is to make your own natural lip balms and body butters using nourishing oils, beeswax and shea butter. Join us for an afternoon class to learn the basics of lip balm, body butters, herbs and essential oils in a friendly atmosphere. The class size is limited to 8 people (and will only go ahead with a minimum of 6 people). Learning to make your own handmade natural lip balm and body butter means that you can avoid plastic waste from buying products. you can control the ingredients so that its great for your skin (and avoid the toxic ingredients in some skincare products). And you can save money by making your own lip balm and body butter to use or for gifts.  

You might have watched a few "Youtubes" on lip balms and body butters, or read a book, but there is nothing like an in-person hands-on workshop to teach you how to make these products. In this workshop, via hands-on experience and demonstration by the instructor, you will you will learn:

• The basic theory and safety of making lip balms and body butter
• How to weigh your ingredients
• How to infuse herbs in oil
• How to choose essential oils
• How to mix all your ingredients and heat

These lip balm and body butter classes are taught by a chemical engineer who has been working with oils and herbs for over 10 years. You can ask all the questions and go into as much detail as you would like. BUT you don’t need a chemistry degree to make these products! Anyone who can follow a basic recipe can learn to make lip balms and body butters.

This lip balm and body butters class is perfect for beginners as it starts from the basics and shows you how to follow a recipe. You learn how to make natural lip balm and body butter from ingredients you can buy from the supermarket and hardware store, and equipment you probably already have at home. We only use natural ingredients, so you learn to make products that are great for your skin.

 What is provided as part of the natural lip balm and body butter workshop?

• All safety equipment (gloves, waterproof apron)
• All ingredients to make lip balm and body butter, including oils and essential oils
• All equipment needed to make lip balm and body butter
• Tea and coffee

What you need to bring to the cold-process natural soap making workshop

• Please bring along 2 clean glass jars at least 200mL to take home your completed product
• Please wear casual clothes. Aprons will be provided, but you may spill oils on your clothes, so wear clothes that you don’t mind getting stained.

• No refunds are given unless the class is cancelled, students will be given an option to refund or join the class on another occasion. If you can't attend, you can exchange your ticket with someone else.
• By purchasing a ticket to the class, you consent to photos taken during the class being used for marketing purposes, on websites, Facebook, Instagram etc. If you do not consent, please make this known to the instructor prior to the class.
